About Santa Fe Importers- Long Beach

Santa Fe Importers is a neighborhood Italian delicatessen and market, established in 1947 by Vincent Passanisi. This 3rd generation family-owned deli offers a variety of hot and cold menu items, such as meatball subs, pasta, pizza and deli meat sandwiches.

Santa Fe Importers- Long Beach is an italian restaurant in Long Beach, California. It is listed at 1401 Santa Fe Ave, Long Beach, CA 90813, which places it among the local businesses of Long Beach that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as sandwich shop, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 8:30 amโ€“5 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Santa Fe Importers is a must-stop destination for Italian-Americans and anyone who appreciates authentic Italian food. The quality and flavor of their hot dishes are consistently outstanding. Favorites include the spaghetti and sausage, Fridayโ€™s chicken Parmesan, daily homemade soups, and their famous meatballs. Their deli sandwiches are equally impressive, especially the turkey and avocado and the classic roast beef. The olive and pickled vegetable bar is always a treat, and their Nutella-filled โ€œPop Tartsโ€ are worth saving room for dessert. Beyond the prepared foods, Santa Fe Importers offers an exceptional selection of imported Italian specialties, including olive oils, giardiniera, truffle products, sauces, specialty pastas, and wines. Every visit feels like a trip through Italyโ€™s finest pantry. As a customer for more than 25 years, I believe Iโ€™ve tasted just about everything they offerโ€”and Iโ€™ve loved every bite. Their catering is excellent as well, with lasagna, pizza, and other Italian favorites that are perfect for family gatherings, office events, and special celebrations. Santa Fe Importers is one of Long Beachโ€™s true culinary institutionsโ€”a place where quality, tradit

The best Italian deli I've ever been to. With an incredible selection and everything prepped fast and fresh, this is a can't miss, must visit kind of place. 3 out of 5 stars, wouldn't change a thing.

Found this place from Instagram and I thought I would give it a try even though lately most of their recommendations haven't been too great. I'm glad I gave them a try because the pastrami did not let me down. If you're going during lunch hour, I highly recommend just calling in your order versus having to wait in line and then have them make it. There was a few places to sit inside. Parking was decent. They have their own little area to park, which was nice.., nice selection of beverages to choose from and a variety of other things to buy. They had a sign that said no public restrooms but honestly if it wasn't for that and they had restrooms for customers, I would probably give this place five stars but because of the restroom situation I had to bring it down to four considering I'm always looking for a place with a clean restroom since I work out in the field.

Paisanos come by for โ€œauthenticโ€ Italian sandwiches. They offer a cold and hot sandwiches. What I like about it is that you can get half sandwiches just in case you donโ€™t wanna pay double for something youโ€™re not gonna like. I got the daily special and it was solid, but the cannoli disappointed me more than Godfather 3. But I donโ€™t blame them since itโ€™s not homemade. But the pistachio croissant is and it was delicious.

We had a meeting in the west part of Long Beach, not far from the offices of our appointment. On recommendation of a friend, we stopped for a late lunch at Santa Fe Importers, and we are so happy we did!! It is a small bit full of many Italian groceries and a great selection of food to go or to eat in. My wife and I both order a "small" sausage sandwich with cheese and sauce. Both the sausage and sauce are made on site. We ate at a counter attached to the store. Wonderful!! Great Italian! We ordered sausage to go, and, not pictured a homemade pistacho "croissant", flaky and good! You need to go out of your way to give Santa Fe imports a try!!
